March 2013 Project Update

STEPS Charter Building Curriculum Sets Program

STEPS Character Building Curriculum Sets Program

One of the ongoing projects of Family Care Indonesia is the distribution of educational materials to lower income schools and teachers in remote areas of Indonesia. Family Care Indonesia has translated into Indonesian the STEPS Character Building curriculum set. (Perangkat Program LANGKAH Tumbuh Kembang Pembentukan Karakter) This set includes 20 course subjects, with a booklet on each one featuring stories, illustrations, and activities, a teacher’s handbook with active learning activities, just-for-fun games, and a sing-along CD and an award certificate is included with each set. Through sponsorship for these sets Family Care Indonesia volunteers distribute them for free in remote areas.

Family Care Indonesia Volunteers Sharon and Siska visit a needy Preschool (PAUD) in Jakarta to deliver a copy of STEPS along with notebooks, pencils and juice for the children. We also provided this school with a DVD machine and speakers so they can play the 20 songs that accompany the STEPS Character Building stories. Through music, students more easily remember and enjoy the themes being taught.

They visited many primary schools, preschools and cooperated with other organizations to distribute the vitamins in remote areas. They also provided some of the preschools (PAUD groups) with the STEPS character building curriculum set. We would like to thank and acknowledge those who help to make this project possible.
