January 2014 Project Update

Second Trip to the Philippines

Second Trip to the Philippines Esther and Vincent return for a second time to the Philippine islands to visit Tacloban City, the most devastated area after Typhoon Haiyan. We distributed hundreds of rosary prayer beads to the victims of this predominantly Catholic city as well as 1,000 sarongs donated by friends from Indonesia. Based at R.T. Romualdez Hospital, our team also visited patients by going from room to room. We joined our associate volunteers who were still at the hospital since November working daily to deliver relief goods to devastated areas. We worked alongside mothers, fathers and young people who volunteered to clean up debris from the storm that was scattered everywhere. Interacting with the hospital kitchen staff and volunteers, we offered encouragement and hope. Our visit was truly a miracle and an opportunity to personally share a message of hope and salvation to many.
