Early Learners English Reading Program Presentation at YKAKI

In cooperation with the BrillKids Foundation, Family Care Indonesia volunteer, Dina, was able to present an early learning reading kit to the teachers at the YKAKI Foundation for Cancer Children.

The teachers at the Foundation were very enthusiastic about this special audio visual reading kit which they plan to integrate into the children’s English learning program.

 

 


Idul Fitri Visits

During the Idul Fitri celebrations, Angel and Nicolas visited Cipayung, East Jakarta, where Family Care Indonesia has been providing supplies for social institutions for the past 8 years. This time, we brought nourishment to Tresna Werdha, a center for 125 old folks, as well as Tunas Bangsa Orphanage that is caring for babies.

Buka Puasa

Buka Puasa Buka Puasa

Thanks to our kind sponsors, Family Care Indonesia volunteers were able to join buka puasa with the children, parents and staff at the Foundation for Cancer Children during Ramadan where dinners, complete with fruit and ice cream, were enjoyed by the children, parents along with the staff and FCI volunteers.

A similar program was conducted in Bandulu, Anyer with each attendees receiving a personal gift.

Program at the BNN Rehabilitation Center Program at the BNN Rehabilitation Center During fasting month at the BNN Rehabilitation Center, Lido; the Muslim clients have extra spiritual input and Family Care Indonesia volunteers John and Joanna felt it would be a good opportunity to do the same for the Christian clients.

Over 3 days they held meetings for 45 attendees to encourage them in their personal faith, knowledge of the Word and to play an active role as a Christian in their environment.

Topics included were Overcoming obstacles, Grace vs Law and Forgiveness and each one received the inspirational book "Obstacles are for Overcoming"

Family Care Indonesia members Gary and Nicolas facilitated the shipping of top quality PA and Sound Systems to several locations in Papua, to a school in Atambua and to several other locations in Flores.

During the last week of their visit to the island of NTT, Family Care Indonesia volunteers Nicolas and Andre held a character building program for elementary and primary school children along with conducting motivational seminars for young people in Kupang, Kefa and Atambua.

The seminar was aimed at building pride in their background and culture, confidence in each individuals' abilities, and challenging them to harness their ambitions and take action in building a more advanced society.
